Now many of our members (including myself occasionally) play the "real" D&D. This is an excellent style of
D&D, however, if you and a friend (say Trekie and I) go to a park and just sit on the swings or lie around on
the ground, you can't very well bring out all your stuff (die, paper, rulebooks, etc.) in front of all these people, who
will either want to join half-way through or will ridicule you or destroy the game. That is when a style of talking
D&D comes in to play. You can just make it up as you go along or use an idea you have been savouring for months
(I have this sweet idea for a D&D-Bookworm). You just talk to the person and if they complain you create a monster to
kill them. Also, the fights can be over in seconds or you can drag them on for hours. These D&Ds are also fantastically
fun to design, merely for the fact that you make a base story (if there is one) and add in some NPCs. Don't get me wrong,
the paper and pencil D&D is fantastic but if you don't want the hassle of die or other equipment, this is what
TD&D is made for.
