"Wasn't as Revolutionary as the first"
Good for a movie, iffy for a Matrix. I'm glad that they didn't try to make the plot better than the first,
because they would have failed miserably. It was right to go for action on this type of movie sequel. It was the
wrong type of action though, the Matrix is a kung-fu movie, SO WHERE'S THE KUNG-FU!?!? Swarming sentinals, rapid fire
guns, millions of bombs, sure it looks good, but it's not kung-fu. The oblivious reason for this is that they didn't
spend enough time in the Matrix, but I can see why they avoided it, there really wasn't alot they could do. The part
at the beginning with the Marovingion wasn't that great, though I do like the guys who can run on the ceiling, may be they
could have increased their time in the Matrix if there had been more people gaurding the Marovingion. He had tonnes
of cool programs in the second one, the vampires, the twins, you know. The Smith fight at the end was decent when they
were in the building, but half way through they forgot they were fliming the end to The Matrix Trilogy, and thought they were
doing an episode of Dragonball Z I mean seiriously just 'cause the Smith was made from such a powerful program doesn't
mean he can fly. That itself wasn't that bad, in fact it might have been pretty cool if Neo had tried to escape by flying
and then they surprised you with it as smith suddenly chased him, but the fighting in the air was just lame. I really
did like that one punch, I would consider that bullet-times finest moment. One question: when did the ships get guns
that blow up a sentinel with each shot, in the first one they said the EMP was their only weapon against sentinals, and there
was only one of them then, one shot would have done it according to Revolutions. Quite honestly, machine guns might
be good in modern war movies, but why on earth would you use them in 2199? Defending the docks was hypothetically their ultimate
fight, but it would have been much easier just to have two guys with EMPs sitting in there, taking turns setting them off.
In summery, this movie is quite a let down.
