This is an amazing way to show an explosion on film.

Two men are in the room, one standing, while the other sits at a desk.  The exploding device, lands in the middle of the table.  The man standing dives for a window, the one sitting lurches backward.  This is seen in normal motion, until the explosion s right infront of the sitting mans face.  Then it goes to bullet-time, as the explosion slowly passes him, and then we see a second of it in normal speed again.  Then we cut to outside the building, and see the explosion come out the windows.
