Now, this game is just plain cool! The action (basically the whole game)
rulés, baldo! This game, based on the famous legend Romance of the 3 Kingdoms, by Lo Kuang-Chong, (Which I've read, thank
you very much!-Bookworm), allows you to play as legendary Chinese characters while you cut your way through hundreds, even
thousands, of not-quite-faceless soldiers, as well as other officers. You choose a kingdom to play as in "Musou Mode" (story
mode) and then choose one of the many unique characters for that kingdom. The story mode does not follow the history but merely
chooses battles that the warriors of that kingdom fought in and change who wins. There are three starting kingdoms:Wei, Wu
and Shu. There are 3 starting characters for each. There are a total of 42 starting and unlockable characters as well as TONS
of extra gaiden levels. In addition to story mode it has other game modes such as free mode,(this allows you to replay levels
with any character) challenge mode and 2-player competion mode. It also features all free and story modes in a fast paced
2 player style. The one player can be a bit boring at times but the two player and countless unlockables allow for endless
enjoyment. The major disadvantages are repetitiveness and the fact that in the later levels the soldiers knock you down every
time you turn to fight an officer. Basically, this game is either enjoyable for you or it is really boring.
Gamer's
Notes:
-Incredibly WEAK AI -Terrible Story Representation (despite a good background story, it's clearly not presented
here in a decent format.) -Repetitive -Fun Multi-Player -Virtually no improvements over its predescessors. (Don't
give me "it was good the way it is, so why change it?" Because here's your answer "DONT DISCREDIT THE SERIES BY MAKING A LACKLUSTER
SEQUEL") -Deserving of only about 7.5 - trust me, there's better games deserving of this score.
(I know it's not great from some points of view but if you say the AI is horrible than you haven't played Dynasty
Warriors 3-Bookworm)
