Another fine Game Cube exclusive. Why can't all the comsole's gang up, for the sake of the people at the controler end?
Use Game Cube's great games with the variety for the PS2, and Xbox's superior graphics, now that'd be sweet. But of course
they wouldn't do that because they make more money this way. Probably all for the best, if there was only one major console,
nothing would stop the price from skyrocketing. Except for the limit people would pay. Anyways, so this is a great Game Cube
exclusive. Don't be put off by the horrible ads like I was, because once I played this game it was truly awesome.
Mario
is off on another crazy adventure, but this time, he has a companion. Well, not so much a companion as a tool (like Gamer)
but the point is he's got new stuff. Mario now sports a water pack on his back. This allows him to spray targets, or blast
water downwards, to hit targets or help himself hover. Water spraying power is a definite must, because mario is doing community
service, and is charged with clearing up vandalism, and washing the slime from the island. Mario sunshine has fun levels,
new enemies, and that feeling from games such as spider-man 2, where it's fun just to roam around, and look for stuff. The
graphics are, as usual for Game Cube, asthetically pleasing. In this case, more so as you progress, as the island becomes
cleaner, and also brighter with the return of the shine sprites. The music in this game is also very traditionally Nintendo-ish.
It has that friendly-in-the-right-times-worrying-in-the-right-times-but-always-simple thing that goes straight back to old-school
NES Mario. Speaking of which, you'll just love the theme in the secret levels.
This game is defintaly
worth playing in detail, and I think everyone should get the oppurtunity to do so, even if it means their friend lending them
the game and the comsole. (hint hint Gamer) In any case, have a good time with this, and always stop to spray dirty people
or burning stuff.
