Steven Speelberg's Back to the future is a marvelous film. Upbeat plot and increadible chase seens are driven along by
well placed music, and wonderful characters. It is the year 1985, Marty McFly (Micheal J. Fox) is a cool kid. Fairly normal,
he is easy to identify with. He is doing alright with his life, which is more than can be said for his weak willed father.
His good friend, Dr. Emett Brown, or more plainly 'Doc' (Christopher Lloyd) is engaged in experiments, but when Marty goes
to investigate, he finds a incomprehiensible machine constructed from a Dalorian. This is the time machine that will lead
us through the entire series. Marty winds up in 1955, and without a route home. He also seems to have accidently changed the
time flow, to an alternate 1955 which could result in him not being born. With the help of the Doc from 1955, Marty must attempt
to recitfy the time flow, and then get himself back to the future. (hence the title)
Back to the Future is one of those well done Time Travel films. When done this well the results are marvelous,
as fantastic plot is joined by witty one-liners and humourous gags. In this case characters play a big
part as we see quite a few people in both time frames, as children, and then as adults. If you go on to watch the entire
series, you also get to see their grandchildren, and there ancestors. The connections are fantastically done. Back
to the Future is tons of fun, and will keep anyone occupied the whole way through, and leave you wanting more, fortunately
enough, there are a pair of sequels that complete the story, and bring the marvelous characters and plot back together. -Trekie
