This is my favourite adventure game. It combines a witty repertoire of dialogue, an excellent control scheme and an easy to follow plot to be one of the best PS2 games out there.

Graphics: The graphics are one of the best ones shown on the PS2. They aren't as good as MGS2 or Onimusha and the Prince model could use some work (his eyes are jagged disproportionate rhombuses) but they still kick the crap out of Fable.

Gameplay/Controls: The controls are good, but they are too easy. You should actually have to work to walk along a bar instead of catching the edge every time you fall. The gameplay is far too easy, the puzzles take 10 seconds to do, even if it is one of the main ones. The combat system sucks. Maybe if you had other attacks to unlock later on, it would work, but even at the beginning fighting guards you can use all the moves you have at the end. The new swords are interesting but one of them kills one hit. Thankfully it's a puzzle based game so the repetitive combat doesn't get in the way too much. I spent 10 minutes just running around doing nothing but going up walls and swinging up walls, just because the monkey like prince is so fun to control. Using the sands of time from your dagger is also simple with lots of combat options and ways to rewind time.

Sound: The music is great. The combat music actually ends well, rather than trailing off, if they hadn't tried to mix rock with middle east in some parts I'd be comparing it to BG2's music. The footsteps are realistic, they even sort of echo in large empty rooms. The voice acting is amazing if persian people were British. The characters are portrayed perfectly but the accents don't seem to fit the setting.

Plot: The plot is interesting yet simple. You, the Prince, have helped your father capture a maharajah's palace (with the help of a traitorous Vizier) and you have raided the treasury and found a giant hourglass as well as a dagger with the ability to change time and other such things. The hourglass is a gift to another king and you foolishly unleash the sands within on the people after being tricked by the Vizier, only you, he and the maharajah's daughter, Farah, survive. You must save the people and kill the Vizier.

Characters: You are the Prince, he is a good character with a perfect personality for a young arrogant person. Farah is a typical annoying game female, with witty insult's mocking the prince and expecting to recieve praise for the simplest tasks. The Vizier is just dumb, whoever thought of a cripple to be a bad guy was an idiot, thankfully he doesn't show up much and at the end he seems convincingly evil.
The banter between the Prince and Farah is actually quite fun to listen to, while the arrogant prince tells you his thoughts after every signifigant dialogue.

Conclusion: Overall the game was an amazing experience, it's main lacking features being that it was short (7-10 hours) and it didn't have much replayability after the first time.
