Once again I would ask that you note I am assumeing that you have read Wizard's First Rule, and Stone of Tears, so if
you haven't, please do not read further due to spoilers.
Blood of the Fold continues the Sword of Truth in a strong fasion. Not quite up to scatch with the others in this
series, but still decent. My real only problem with it is that it isn't as long as the others, and so doesn't have enough
time to expand the story as much as the others did. still, good solid story line, that holds together well. We
start off with an introduction to the leader of the Imperial Order. (yeah, they're still kicking around.)
In this book we see Richard starting to mature into his role as the heir to the throne in D'Hara with a stunning plan that
has a goal that seems unusual for him "I plan to conquer the world."
Along with his role as Lord Rahl this book introduces several new characters. Remember Mord-Sith from the first
book? And those big tough guys led by the Pedifile that got killed? Yeah... We also see inside the Wizard's Keep and
meet an interesting creature inside. This creature is a creature created in a war of the past between the new world and the
old world, which is being brought back to life by the Imperial Order.
We have some old friends back of course, Zedd, Kahlan, Gratch, Adie, The sisters of the light and Dark, Verna, Warren,
Nathan, and Anna. Also returning are the mirswiths, they develop more as a group in this book, we also meet their leader.
New to this series is a group dedicated to the destruction of things magical named 'The Blood of the Fold' (never would have
called they were in this book eh?) We learn of their ways from Adie who had a bad experience with them. They present a solid
obstical as they which to destroy magical creatures includeing Confessors.
The Blood of the Fold adds new cretures, new ideas, a better understanding of magic and of course a new Wizard's Rule.
Another great work by Terry Brooks, keeping the series alive.
